Password or age gate is not shown

Symptom

A gallery with Protection (Pro) turned on shows its items without asking for the password or the visitor’s age.

Cause

• The editor preview never shows the gate. It is a front-end feature.
• On the site, the visitor already passed it. The cookie lasts 30 days, and the age gate cookie is shared by every gallery on the site.
• Crawlers skip the age gate, so a preview from a search engine or a social network shows the items.

Fix

1. Test the page in a private browser window, which starts without the cookie.
2. For a password gate, check that a password is entered in the block’s Protection settings.
