An album is a gallery item that opens a set of images in the lightbox instead of one picture. The item shows a stacked-images icon and, optionally, the number of images.

PostsSet the project’s Format to Gallery and pick Album Images in the sidebar. Without Album Images, the images attached to the post are used, up to 50
MediaOpen the image’s Media Settings, set Format to Gallery, pick Album Images
TaxonomiesAutomatic: each term’s album is made of the album images (or featured images) of its posts, newest first, up to 50, cached for an hour

Show albums

  • Click Action Popup. In Media Object Priority, Album is placed before Image by default, so an album item opens its album; move it to change that. See Click Action.
  • Skin → Overlay → Display Gallery Icon (on by default) shows the icon; Display Images Count in the Elements section shows “12 Images”.
  • Advanced click action can target the Gallery format.

Settings → Popup & Lightbox → Albums:

Isolated Album PopuponThe lightbox holds only that album’s images. Off: all gallery items and all album images in one sequence
Album Lazy Load Threshold20Images rendered with the page; more are fetched from the REST API when the album opens, 50 at a time

Titles and descriptions of album images follow the block’s Title Source and Description Source. Deep links (Pro) address album images as pid=3-album-2. Watermarked copies are served when the block has Add Watermarks to Photos on (see Watermarks). A Custom Popup Image is ignored for album items.

Limits

  • 50 images per automatic album (attached images, taxonomy albums); Album Images picked by hand have no limit.
  • The REST route that serves the remaining images is public and serves published posts only; if REST is blocked for visitors, only the first images of an album open.
