# “To enable updates, please enter your license key”

## Symptom

The Plugins screen shows **To enable updates, please enter your license key** under Visual Portfolio Pro, and updates fail.

## Cause

No license key is activated on this site.

## Fix

Open [Visual Portfolio → Settings → Updates](https://www.visualportfolio.com/docs/settings/updates/), paste the key and click **Activate License**.
