# Why was the free plugin deactivated when I activated Pro?

Free versions older than 3.8.1 cannot run next to Pro, so Pro deactivates them and shows “This version of Visual Portfolio is too old to run next to Visual Portfolio Pro.” Nothing is lost.

You can delete the free plugin or update it. From 3.8.1 both can be active.
