# How are Views and Reading Time counted?

- **Views** – counted each time a single post page is loaded, or taken from the Post Views Counter plugin when that plugin is active.
- **Reading Time** – words divided by 265 per minute (500 characters per minute for Chinese, Japanese and Korean sites), shown as “< 1” under a minute.

Both are available for the Posts source only.
