# Do I need the free plugin installed to use Pro?

No. Pro contains the free plugin.

If the free plugin is installed, version 3.8.1 or newer may stay active next to Pro; older versions are deactivated automatically when Pro activates. Your settings, projects and galleries carry over either way.
